Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, students are expected to have acquired the following competencies:

  • Understanding of the research process: Identifying the phases of the research process, from problem formulation to the derivation of answers
  • Understanding of philosophical foundations: Familiarity with key philosophical perspectives and their relevance to Information Systems
  • Critical selection of appropriate research methods: Assessing the suitability of different methods based on the research problem and questions
  • Development of a research proposal: Formulating a proposal, including the selection and justification of methods
Attendance requirements

Regular attendance is required. Absences will only be excused in exceptional and important cases (e.g., illness). Successful completion of the course requires a minimum attendance of 80%. Attendance will be monitored via attendance lists.
